It all starts with the first-ever Nixon Santa Shuffle 5K, presented by the Lone Star Endurance Athletes at 8:30 a.m., starting at the Nixon Community Center, 302 E. Central Ave. This is a fun run and walk for community members of all ages and fitness levels at a distance of 5K (3.1 miles).

The run will start and end at Nixon City Hall. Runners will run down North Second, across Washington Avenue, up by the school and head back toward Second on Lowery Avenue. The run will continue up toward the cemetery for one loop around the cemetery and back down Second toward City Hall. The course will be well marked and easy to follow.
