Monico (Pablo) Ramos

Posted

Monico (Pablo) Ramos was born on May 4, 1943 in Gonzales, Texas. He was one of 14 children born to Pablo Ramos Sr. and Eduvigen Gonzales Ramos. Pablo went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Feb. 10, 2021 at the age of 77. He married Marie Guevara on Oct. 29, 1960 in Gonzales. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Pablo was raised in Gonzales and was a very hard worker, provider, and supporter for his family. He was a jack of all trades and could do just about anything. Pablo worked for Ruben Neitsch at The Dairy Farm (which his kids have many stories they can tell of all the fun times they had while living at the dairy). Pablo worked for Kasper and Mobil. He worked for American National Bank as a Carrier. His latest job was a ranch hand for William (Bill) Hyman tending to all of his cattle. He also did yard work for various people in and around Gonzales.

Pablo is survived by his wife of 60 years Marie G. Ramos of Gonzales, TX. Children; Linda Petrek (Rodney) of Moulton, Diane Vargas (Javier) of Gonzales, Danny Ramos (Raina) of Moulton, Beverly Pilat of Moulton, John David Ramos (Kimberly) of Smiley, Albert Ramos (Kamii) of Gonzales, 28 grandchildren, and 44 great grandchildren, and his sister Susan Valladolid. Pablo is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, 12 brothers and sisters, son Pablo Ramos Jr. and son Michael Ramos.

Pablo was not the typical hunter or fisherman he enjoyed his “simple” lifestyle which consisted of spending time with family, doing yard work, watching old westerns, and novellas with his lovely wife. On Saturdays and Sundays, you were sure to find Pablo at the family’s house enjoying his day with his kids, grandkids, and family sitting around listening to good music, eating some good ol’ bar-b-que and of course playing cards, Mexican bingo and the occasional game of dice.

In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place, no one else will ever fill. Pablo will be missed by many.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18 in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2021 in St. James Cemetery with Fr.
