Gonzales County Commissioners Court

  • County resident Dale Schellenberg brought the court’s attention to a fencing issue in Precinct 3. County Attorney Paul Watkins said the issue had already been brought to his attention and his office is “working on it.”
  • Minutes from the Dec. 16, 2019 were approved.
  • Monthly reports from Constable Precinct 1 and the County Auditor were received.
  • The court also received a continuing education certificate of completion for the period of Jan. 2, 2019 to Jan. 1, 2020 from the County Tax Assessor-Collector. The notice provides compliance with a Senate Bill 546 requirement.
  • ESD Commissioners Donald Rihn, Rene De La Garza and Linda Carter were re-appointed by the court until Dec. 31, 2020 and Commie Hisey was re-appointed through Dec. 31, 2021.
  • The court approved declaring a 2006 Ford F250 as surplus and authorized to trade toward the purchase of a 2020 Ford F350 from Caraway Ford for Precinct 4.
  • The court read into the record two Texas Department of Transportation bridge closures at County Road 228 at Elm Slough and County Road 466 at Old Town Creek. The CR 228 bridge will be closed for approximately six months and the CR 466 project will be closed for approximately two-to-three months. Both are scheduled for letting in April 2020 and construction starting two-to-three months after then.
  • A restructured law library order form was approved.
  • County Judge Pat Davis requested the county place notice of its interlocal agreement with DeWitt County regarding lobbyist Steven Holzheauser of Cornerstone Government Affairs on its website.
  • Four budget amendments were approved.
  • Bills were read and approved.
