Nicholas Noyes Wentworth, a nonagenarian, living at Providence Farm in Waelder, Texas died April 30th, 2025.
Nick was born on March 23rd, 1935 in Massachusetts General Hospital Boston, Mass. He was a halfback on the Stamford, Connecticut state champion football team. He graduated from Babson College with an M.B.A. and served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Finance Corps. as the Disbursing Officer at Fifth Army Headquarters.
Houston became home in 1961. There he met and married Bette Wilson in April 1964. He was a Chartered Financial Analyst and President of the Houston Society of Financial Analysts. Nick and three others founded Investment Advisors in 1968. He was President of the firm when he retired.
He and Bette bought a home overlooking Lake Travis in Austin. Later they moved to Bellville where Nick was President of the Bellville Historical Society and a nine-year Treasurer of the Bellville Chamber of Commerce prior to moving to Waelder. He was President of Gonzales Master Gardners.
He is survived by Bette, sons Mark and Alan, his brother Jeff and three grandchildren, Emily, Allison and Harrison. His parents, Roland and Beatrice Wentworth and sister Martha preceded him in death. Nick will be buried beside Wentworth ancestors at the family plot in Ossipee, New Hampshire, the state where William Wentworth migrated from England to the colonies in 1636.
A memorial service will be held for Nick at Thompsonville Community Church located at County Road 443 in Waelder, Tx. at 11am, Saturday, May 24, 2025.
