Nixon 4-H will hold a Prospect Show Jan. 4-5, 2025 at the Nixon Livestock Show Barn, 1001 E. Central Ave.
There will be a $60 entry fee for two rings with cash or check due at check-in.
On Saturday, Jan. 4, will be the show for steers and heifers. Check-in and weight cards are from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., followed by Heifer Showmanship at 9:30 a.m. in Ring B. The Heifer Show will follow in Ring A with the Steer Show after that and then Grand and Reserve Overall for steers and heifers.
A three-layer cake contest will be held with a $20 entry fee, judged by Gayle Bludau. Turn-in is at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Sunday, Jan. 5, will feature breeder goats, wether goats, breeder lambs, market lambs, gilts and barrows. Check-in and weight cards are from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Breeder Goat Showmanship begins at 9:30 a.m. in Ring B and then, beginning with Breeder Goats, all animals will following in Ring A.
Prizes will be given in Ring B and include buckles, banners and rosettes. Judges are Shawn Peters and David Fleming.
There will be a jackpot showmanship in Pee-wee, third-sixth grade, seventh through 12th grade and adults.
