Nixon Harvest Festival is free fun for all

The 2022 Nixon Harvest Festival is being held and you are invited to enjoy the event, which is free for the whole family and being held Friday, Oct. 28, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and continuing Saturday, Oct. 29, from 12:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Nixon City Hall, 100 W. Third Street, Nixon.

There will be family and children’s entertainment, with a petting zoo, face painting, food and drinks, inflatable jumpy houses, rides, a pumpkin patch, as well as live music throughout the entire event.

Come out and enjoy the beginning of the fall season with the entire family, wear a costume (not required but encouraged), and enjoy all the festivities in this anticipated community event.

Friday will have tejano music provided by Todo es Posible, for dancing and entertainment for the entire family; while live rock and roll with the Disco/Killers will be igniting the community on Saturday night with a multitude of hits from the 1980s and 1990s.

There will be a corn hole tournament Saturday with registration beginning at 1 p.m., at the American Legion booth, with the actual competition beginning at 2 p.m. The pot will be split between the final winner and the American Legion.

There will be many local businesses providing a variety of seasonally decorated booths, with additional games and individual activities, for all festival goers; further increasing the available fun during the event.
