OBITUARY

Oralia N. Eldridge

Posted

On Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, Oralia N. Eldridge gained her wings at the age of 70.

Oralia was born on Sept. 9, 1950 in Cotulla, Texas to Encarnacion (Chon) and Julia Nanez. She was married to J.C. Eldridge, Sr. (Pepaw) for 36 years, and raised 5 children together, Felix, J.C. Jr., J.R., Julia and Eliana.

She was a very outspoken, hard-headed woman. Every opinion she had was not just that, but a true statement and you better not tell her any different! She had the biggest heart and would help anyone, anyway she could, never asking for anything.

She was warm, loving, and really enjoyed cooking for her family, so she could be surrounded by them spending as much time as she could with everyone. If you ever helped her in the kitchen, if she let you, you would know if it wasn’t made the way she told you, it wasn’t made right!

She had a passion for bingo, she was always ready to go up until a few months ago but even then, all she did was talk about going again.

Oralia never showed any fear. She was strong, a fighter, and she never gave up on anything even all the way up to the end.

Oralia is survived by her five children; Felix Gonzales, J.C. Eldridge, Jr., J.R. Eldridge, Julie  Eldridge, and Eliana Eldridge, sister; Gloria Perusquia, 11 grandchildren; Samantha, Shannon, Amy, Felix III, Julian, Austin, J.R., Jr., J.W., DaShyla, Zaleigha, and Zabree, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; Encarnacion (Chon) and Julie Nanez, husband; J.C. Eldridge, Sr. (Pepaw), brother; Reynaldo Lopez, and sister; Emma Garcia.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20 in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
