Padilla signs to play softball with Hill College

Gonzales Lady Apaches softball center fielder Sarah Padilla is heading to the next level to continue her softball career in college.

Padilla — surrounded by family, friends and coaches at Come and Take It Bar & Grill — signed her commitment letter to play softball with the Hill College Rebels in Hillsboro, Texas.

Padilla is a four-year varsity player for the Lady Apaches softball team since the 2022 season; she has recorded 46 hits, 31 runs, 27 RBIs, nine triples, five doubles; last season she recorded a season-high nine triples and was named second team All-District.

Padilla is looking forward to her next chapter of her softball career.

“It's truly a blessing. I'm really excited and really ready to compete at the next level,” Padilla said. “As soon as I went to Hill, it just felt at home. And I love the environment, the coaches and the atmosphere and I just knew that's where I needed to be.”
Padilla will be playing center field with the Rebels and will be studying nursing at Hill College.
