Police remind people to lock their cars amid two more reported thefts

In the wake of two car thefts over the past two days, the Gonzales Police Department is urging residents to citizens to please lock their vehicles and to avoid leaving valuables likes electronics and firearms inside.

The police department is also asking residents to report any suspicious activity by calling 9-1-1. Anyone with information on a possible suspect(s), is asked to call the Gonzales Police at 830-672-8686.

Both of the stolen vehicles were left unlocked with the keys inside. In both cases, the vehicles were stolen from one location and were later found nearby.

The first theft was from a Williams Street location in Monday, Aug. 9. It was recovered on the 2400 block of Church Street.

The second theft was from Oakland Street, with the vehicle found in the 2500 block of Church Street.
