The National Weather Service has issued a warning for marginal severe risk of severe thunderstorms for Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Main threats identified by the NWS include straight-line winds of up to 60 miles per hour in isolated storms, as well as hail up to one inch in diameter and heavy rains.

“Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected across portions of the area today and into tonight,” the warning reads. “Some isolated locations could pick up a quick 1 to 2 inches of rain, which may briefly cause ponding of water on roadways and minor flooding. In addition, there is a marginal risk across portions of the Hill Country and along and east of I-35 that some isolated storms could become severe, producing damaging wind gusts and hail.”

Additional rainfall is expected Thursday through Sunday.
