Robert Edward Erickson, 78, of Cost, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025. He was born August 6, 1946 in Velasco, Texas the son of Eugene and Loretta Brady Erickson.
He was the owner of Apache Chemicals in Gonzales and retired after 35 years serving the Gonzales area. He enjoyed fishing at the coast, playing dominoes, music and dancing. He loved people and hosting parties, cooking and was a friend to all. He enjoyed his “Lake” and the animals surrounding it. He was an avid John Wayne fan, movies and collecting John Wayne memorabilia. He was always donating to the community especially to youth organizations.
He is survived by his wife Vivian Erickson of Cost; daughters Tiffany Cegielski and husband Chris of Manvel, Rachael Erickson of Colorado and step daughter Amanda Jacob and husband Shane of Harwood; son Randall Janak of Austin, step sons Brandon McCord and wife Nancy of Ezzell and Brian McCord and wife Jamie of Shiner; sister Helen Morrow of Harwood; grandchildren Katelyn Burnett and husband Jacob, Harper Jacob, Ayden McCord, Ainsley McCord and Amery McCord; great-grandchildren Knox Burnett and Kara Burnett.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Eugene “Gene” Erickson.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Ken Hedrick, Robert Rodriguez, Randy Judd, Danny Judd, Brandon McCord and Brian McCord. Honorary pallbearers are Shane Jacob, Butch Gandre and All Young Farmers of Gonzales.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Elara Caring Hospice or the Gonzales American Legion Post.
