Dr. Seuss books which are no longer in publication will be held for reference only at the Robert Lee Brothers, Jr. Memorial Library, following a report from Library Director Caroline Helms.

The six books which have been pulled from publication by the Dr. Seuss Foundation due to concerns of representation will be available to read at the library but are no longer available to check out and take home.

The library board met on Wednesday, April 7 to select a slate of officers for 2021. This was the board’s first meeting since February of the previous year, as the board had been unable to meet in person due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, the board voted unanimously to leave the 2020 slate of leadership in place for 2021.

In other business:

  • The board was updated by Helms on occupancy of its rental space at the south side of the building.
  • The board received a financial report for 2020.
