Rosa Monroy Stasney

Rosa Monroy Stasney was born February 19, 1940 in Lima Peru and entered God’s holy presence on April 7, 2022.  She was preceded in death by parents Humberto and Florencia Angulo-Barr, brother Humberto and sister Hortencia. She is survived by her sister Charro of Lima, her children Audra (husband Kelly Kerr), Jennifer (husband Lance Benes), Leslie (husband Kelly Mahan), Pamela Stasney and grandchildren Frank Harrison, Samuel, Hayden and Ashley. 

All who knew Rosa appreciated her enthusiasm, zest for life and her willingness to see the best in others. She lived by faith, was a force of positivity and a giver in the truest sense of the word.  After raising her daughters, she became a teacher and completed her master’s degree in Spain at the University of Salamanca.  Rosa spoke five languages, loved learning and teaching others. Her wisdom, guidance and love will be missed by many.

Rosary will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, San Antonio. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. and a reception will follow the funeral, both at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, San Antonio.  A graveside service will be held at 2:30  p.m. at Belmont Cemetery, Belmont, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Catholic Relief Services-Ukraine where one of her best friends is helping Ukrainian refugees and Rosa was supporting her efforts.  Arrangements by The Angelus Funeral Home, 1119 N.
