Schools closed through Friday due to weather

This story has been updated to reflect new announcements from county school districts.

Gonzales County schools are closed through Friday, Feb. 19, due to extreme weather conditions.

Gonzales Independent School District is closed through Friday, Feb. 19, with decisions regarding Friday forthcoming.

Nixon-Smiley Consolidated Independent School District has also closed campuses through Friday as well. Nixon and Smiley cafeterias will be providing tacos to go for children ages ages one to 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19.

Waelder Independent School District is closed until Monday, Feb. 22, with the Friday, Feb. 19 4H of Waelder Texas Stock Show being rescheduled to Sunday, Feb. 21. 

Victoria College has also canceled classes through Sunday, Feb. 21 due to "power outages, water shortages, and poor road conditions."
