Severe weather forces municipal, school closures

City offices will be closed today in Nixon, Gonzales, Waelder and Smiley, due to severe weather conditions.
Waelder Independent School District, Nixon-Smiley Consolidated School District, and Gonzales Independent School District are also closed today due to the weather. Waelder ISD is also closed Wednesday. Decisions about Wednesday have not been made by Gonzales ISD or Nixon-Smiley CISD.
Any areas serviced by Frontier Waste Solutions will have their delayed trash pickups from Monday picked up today, weather permitting, according to its Facebook page.
