Snavely opens new location in Gonzales with ribbon cutting

Gonzales welcomed a new business with a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday, Feb. 8 at the new Snavely Forest Products location.

Snavely, a subsidiary of the MacArthur Company, is a wholesale lumber and building company and has seven locations in the United States; Gonzales will be the eighth location.

Their main headquarters is located in Pittsburgh, Penn., and the company has been a recognized leader in the lumber and building products industry, including delivering “superior material, exceptional service and market expertise to customer both near and far,” according to their press release.

Marshall Owens was named the general manager of the Gonzales location and has worked with Snavely for more than 20 years.

From their press release: “With 20 plus years’ experience at Snavely, Marshall is well-suited for this position. I’m confident he will leverage his sales and marketing savvy to propel our expansion to a new level. The company is well-positioned to offer its deep product portfolio in a target-rich environment, particularly with Owens at the helm,” Nick Fitzgerald, Snavely’s Texas regional manager.

Owens said the reason Gonzales was chosen as their newest location is its “proximity to the Austin and San Antonio markets, railed-served property and pro-business climate.”

Owens is looking forward to the partnership with the city of Gonzales and TNW rail, he said.

Owens would like to thank Jennifer Kolbe of the Gonzales Economic Development Board, the TNW Railroad and David Linderman for bringing Snavely to the city and the opportunity to be the general manager. He added “the Snavely team has been a great support throughout the expansion process.”

Snavely is located at 2430 Church St in Gonzales.
