Apaches remain unbeaten in district

The Gonzales Apaches boys soccer team are unbeaten in district after knocking off Pleasanton last Friday 2-1 then beating La Vernia at home on Tuesday 6-1. The Apaches are first place in District 29-4A with 12 points and a 4-0-0 record. La Vernia is in second at 2-2 with Pleasanton and Yoakum both 1-3. The Apaches can clinch a district championship with a win at Yoakum on Friday. Kickoff is scheduled at 7 p.m.

Lady Apaches fighting for points

The Gonzales Lady Apaches soccer team look a 2-0 loss on Tuesday after losing 6-1 last Friday against Pleasanton. The team has one point in District 29-4A with their 0-3-1 record, their lone tie coming against Yoakum. Up top in the district is Pleasanton (12 points, 4-0-0), then La Vernia (9 points, 3-1-0). Yoakum and Gonzales are tied with 1 point at 0-3-1. They play Friday, with the winner taking sole possession of third place.
