Lady Apaches golfers placed third
The Gonzales Lady Apaches golf team recently placed third at the Buckhorn Tournament in Comfort this past week. Kiley Allen placed first overall at the meet. The Lady Apaches’ next meet is the district tournament at Floresville at the River Bend Golf Course from March 30-31.

State-ranked Apaches one win away from unbeaten district title
The Gonzales Apaches are a win away from going unbeaten in District 29-4A boys soccer, after beating Yoakum 6-0 last Friday, March 6. The Apaches (5-0) have outscored their district opponents 26-1. They take on Pleasanton on the road next Tuesday to finish out the regular season.

Lady Apaches likely to stay in third place in district
The Gonzales Lady Apaches locked up at least a third-place spot in District 29-4A after defeating Yoakum 4-1 last Friday to sweep the Bulldogs. Gonzales hosts Pleasanton next Tuesday for their final district game of the season. Pleasanton won the last matchup 6-0.

Mustangs knock off Pleasanton in non-district bout
The Nixon-Smiley Mustangs beat Pleasanton 2-1 in a non-district game last Tuesday. The Mustangs are scheduled to travel to Flatonia for a tournament this weekend before traveling to Yorktown for another non-district game next Tuesday.

Lady Apaches run-ruled on the road
The Nixon-Smiley Lady Mustangs lost 10-0 against Charlotte Monday morning. They travel to Center Point this Friday for a 5:30 p.m. game before hosting Lytle next Tuesday for a 6 p.m. game.
