Apaches knock off Bloomington

The Gonzales Apaches beat Bloomington in a non-district home win 61-48 last Monday, Nov. 25.

Lady Apaches extend win streak

The Gonzales Lady Apaches extended their win streak to four straight games after knocking off Jourdanton 54-42 last Monday, Nov. 25 before Thanksgiving break, then beating Lockhart 39-33 on Tuesday, Dec. 3. Gonzales travels to Schulenburg for tournament play this weekend before hosting Nixon-Smiley on Tuesday, Dec. 10 for a 6:15 p.m. game.

Nixon-Smiley moves to 1-1 overall

The Nixon-Smiley Mustangs got their first win of the season with a dominating 67-30 victory over Pettus on Tuesday, Dec. 3. Zach Perez led the team in scoring with 22 points, while Ruben Bomer added 13, Jesse Riojas and Edgar Ochoa had eight each, Leonard Zamora and Brayden Martinez had five each and Braxton Regalado, Jayden Brassell and Robert Garcia had two points each. The Mustangs travel to Nordheim for a tournament this weekend before hosting Sacred Heart on Tuesday with tipoff set at 6:15 p.m.

St. Paul bests Nixon-Smiley in non-district bout

The Nixon-Smiley Mustangs lost 34-26 at home to the Shiner St. Paul Lady Cardinals on Tuesday. Danni Blair led St. Paul in scoring with 11 points, adding five rebounds, one assist and seven steals in the process. St. Paul’s Rebecca Wagner had a double-double, scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and two steals. The Lady Mustangs travel to Woodsboro for a tournament this weekend before traveling to Gonzales for a non-district road game on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Tipoff is set for 6:15 p.m. Meanwhile, the Lady Cardinals host Hallettsville Sacred Heart next Tuesday, Dec. 10 with tipoff at 6:15 p.m.

Wildcats win non-district road tilt

Waelder traveled to take on Wallis Brazos, winning the game 67-21. The Wildcats travel to Athens for a tournament this weekend before hosting Flatonia next Tuesday, Dec. 10 with tipoff at 5 p.m.

Eagles move to 3-3 overall

The Luling Eagles dropped to 3-3 after beating Yorktown 58-4 on Nov 25, losing to Jourdanton 59-58 on Nov. 26 and losing 74-41 to UC Randolph on Dec. 3. The Eagles host Navarro on Friday with tipoff set at 7:30 p.m. before traveling to Comfort on Tuesday, Dec. 10 with tipoff set at 7:30 p.m.

Lady Eagles win non-district bout

The Luling Lady Eagles improved to 5-2 overall after losing to Lampasas 63-39 on Nov. 26 and beating Smithville at home on Tuesday 56-40. Luling travel to Schulenburg for a tournament this week before hosting Lexington on Tuesday, Dec. 10 for a 6:15 p.m. game.
