State champion golfers

Lady Cards take first, boys place third at state golf meet

The Shiner St. Paul boys and girls golf teams traveled to Waco last week to compete at the TAPPS 2A State Golf tournament at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course, with the Lady Cardinals winning the state championship as a team while the boys placed third.

The Lady Cardinals totaled 780 shots, 78 shots better than the second place Dallas International team. Scores include:

  • Paige Brown, 90-92, placing third overall.
  • Sarah Peters, 98-97, placing fifth
  • Sadie Thibodeaux, 104-97, placing seventh
  • Tristin Davis, 104-98, placing eighth
  • Maddie Stamport, 109-104

Additional St. Paul girls played as medalist:

  • Hannah Timmons 107-102
  • Macy Grabarkievtz 108-104
  • Bailey Blair 110-111
  • Sydney Hermann 116-118
  • Kate Ehrig 120-108

The boy’s team placed third overall with a total score of 788. The boy’s team consisted of:

  • Walker Jackson shooting 92-92, tied for ninth place
  • Cole Brown shooting 91-94
  • Cody Hollenbach, 98-104
  • Carson Reese, 112-104
  • Braden Clampit, 127-120
