Trunk or treats are all the rage and one will be held next week in both Gonzales and in Nixon.

Gonzales will host a trunk or treat event in Independence Square Saturday, Oct. 29, beginning at 4:30 p.m. with trick or treaters invited to walk through and enjoy all the decorations and get candy and fun along the way.  This event will be happening during the Happy Fall Y’all celebrations, which also offer a wide range of games and treats for celebrants.

Nixon-Smiley trunk or treat event will be held Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Nixon-Smiley High School. The event will be host to a min-carnival, games, train rides, costume parade contest, and pumpkin decorating. The event is free to local children and everyone will be provided with a free hot dog and drink.

The costume parade will be in front of the Ag building, with the Nixon-Smiley band kicking the contest off at 5:30 p.m. Trunk parking for businesses will be across the street in the HS student parking lot, where spots will not be designated, so please follow parking spaces, accordingly.  A trunk decorating contest will be held for those participating, with judges announcing the winners at 6:30 p.m.
