Vicente Torres Reyes, aged 67, went home to Jesus on September 18, 2024, in Gonzales, Texas. He was born on May 11, 1957 in Rancho La Noria, Michoacán, Mexico to Vicente and Angela Reyes. He married the love of his life, Carmen Tovar Reyes on March 23, 1979 in Gonzales Tx. While raising two daughters he worked at several oil field companies then went on to Dean Word Construction for 21 years till the present.
A beloved figure to many, Vicente was a jack of all trades, known for his remarkable ability to build and fix just about anything. He had a playful demeanor that brought joy and laughter to those around him, often showcasing his brainy sense of humor.
Vicente was passionate about reading and studying a wide range of subjects, constantly seeking knowledge that he eagerly shared with others. He loved nothing more than caring for his family, taking immense pride in providing for them through his hard work. Vicente’s greatest joy was found outdoors, where he felt most at peace.
His contributions were felt deeply by those he encountered, as he was always ready to offer advice and guidance, sharing the wisdom he had gathered throughout his life. Vicente leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Vicente is survived by his wife, daughters Christina Reyes and Rachel Thomas (Cody), sisters, Maria Guadalupe Escobedo (Vicente), Antonia Orozco (Manuel), Ma Luz Carranco (Ignacio), brothers Meliton Reyes (Berta), Serafin Reyes (Maria Candelaria), Esequiel Reyes (Laura), Martin Reyes and 26 nieces and nephews, he further survived by his 5 grandchildren, Xandria, Sarina, Jayden, Ozias and Bailey. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Aladislado Reyes.
Visitation will take place Sunday, September 22, 2024 where the family will welcome friends from 5 PM to 7 PM, with a rosary following at 7pm in Seydler Hill Funeral Home. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 AM Monday, September 23, 2024 at Saint James Catholic Church with Fr. Jason Martini as celebrant. Interment will follow at Saint James Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jayden Cruz, Jerry Sanchez, Joey Sanchez, Cody Thomas, Jose Reyes and Lalo Reyes. Honorary Pallbearer, Martin Reyes.
