The Texas Department of Public Safety has released the names of the three people kiled in a two-car crash on Highway 183 on Monday, July 5.

The crash between a 2018 Ford Explorer and 2020 Ford F-350 happened at around 3 p.m. just north of County Road 230 by Mile Marker 586 in Gonzales County.

The driver of the Explorer, Somasundaram Ramesh, 50, of Sugarland, and two passengers, Kavitha Subramanian, 45, of Cupertino, Calif., and a 15-year-old female, died in the crash. A fourth passenger, Arrushi Ramesh, 20, of Sugarland, was transported to the San Antonio Military Hospital. Her condition was not released.

Preliminary information from the DPS indicates the Explorer was traveling south on Highway 183when the driver lost control – possibly hydroplaning amid heavy rains – and crossed into the north-bound lane, colliding with the Ford F-350, which was towing a flat-bed trailer.

The driver of the F-350, Patrick Beck, 25, of Cedar Creek, and a passenger, Sarah Sellers, 22, of Round Rock, were transported to Ascension Seton Edgar B. Davis Hospital in Luling. Information on their condition was not released.
