Warren James Baker, Jr., 62, of Gonzales, Texas passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Gonzales Memorial Hospital in Gonzales, Texas.

Funeral Services are under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Gonzales, Texas and will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Paul Smith from Monthalia Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Monthalia Methodist Cemetery in Cost, Texas. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Buffington Funeral Home with the Family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00pm.

Warren was born on May 4, 1957 in Houston, Texas. He was the son of Warren James, Sr., and Vava (Hefner) Baker. He graduated from Gonzales High School in 1976. He married Peggy Jean Heil on June 17, 1995 in Cost, Texas at Monthalia Methodist Church. Warren worked for the Gonzales Healthcare System for 32 years until he had to retire due to health reasons. He liked doing diamond dotz paintings, mosaic art, and taking wildlife photos. He liked solving word seek puzzles and coin collecting. Warren was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and a collector of Dallas Cowboy’s memorabilia. He was a collector and fan of NASCAR Racing. Warren enjoyed creating latch hook art.

Warren is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Peggy, one brother; John Baker and his wife, Shirley of Harwood, Texas, one sister; Catherine Swieter and her husband, Eric of Austin, Texas, one nephew; Danny, three nieces; Kimberly, Ruby, Cindy, and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Warren James, Sr., and Vava Baker.

Pallbearers for Mr. Baker will be; Danny Baker, Barry Beaman, James Beaman, Dewey Smith, Tony Tschappatt, and Allen Wilke.
