Wynelle Parker “Meemaw” Sheffield

Wynelle Parker “Meemaw” Sheffield of Smiley passed away peacefully on March 30, 2021 at the age of 90.

She was born at home in Smiley on Dec. 21, 1930, to Horace Greely Parker and Mary Passmore Parker. She married her high school sweetheart and one true love, Walter Zane Sheffield, in 1947, and together they had two children, Lynn and JoNell. They owned and operated Walter Sheffield Poultry Company for approximately 35 years. Wynelle enjoyed traveling, but she and Walter both loved and were completely dedicated to their poultry and ranching business. Wynelle was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Smiley. 

Wynelle is preceded in death by her parents, husband; brother, Wayne Parker; grandson, Lynn Walt Sheffield, Jr.; son-in-law, Chris Ortman; and grandson-in-law, Kreg Llewellyn.

She is survived by her son, Lynn Sheffield, Sr. and his wife Sylvia; daughter, JoNell Sheffield Ortman; grandchildren, Stephen Tate, Brandy (Joshua) Gill, Krista Llewellyn, Kimberly (Justin) Deming, and Dawn Sheffield; 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Round Lake Cemetery on Friday, April 16 at 10 a.m.
