All will be revealed at the Crystal on Dec. 30

What is going to be revealed at The Crystal Reveal? To start, when doors open at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, at the Crystal Theatre, 511 Saint Lawrence St., Gonzales, it will be the first chance most patrons have had the chance to see the interior newly restored in a “historic palette.”

The entire evening is open at no charge to friends, audience members and anyone interested in the arts, entertainment and the enrichment of our youth. A bit of the bubbly or a great non-alcoholic punch, along with some homemade treats, await the patrons as they arrive.

At 7:30 p.m., the evening will begin to reveal the tremendous talent that performs with the historic walls and beyond. It starts with a call to party in romantic Verona, written over 500 years ago by Shakespeare for Romeo and Juliet. The night continues with vignettes from the work of the Young Texians’ performances depicting local settlers when they arrived in Texas full of hope and enthusiasm for their home.

At 8 p.m., an auction takes us to Ireland and beyond for some amazing trips at great prices and an opportunity to raise funds for a great cause … the Crystal Theater and its world class youth programs. For details on these amazing trips and how to bid on the phone if you can’t make the party, watch the Crystal Facebook over the next few days.

After the auction, turn you attention to the talent from far and wide … local dancers and professionals from both coasts will perform numbers from the upcoming productions of the Nutcracker Jan. 6-7. Tickets for the three Nutcracker performances will be available that evening, and after you have seen the segments they are performing at The Reveal, you will know you don’t want to miss it.

What? A wrestling match will be part of the fun, along with a call to meet in the woods to perform a play for some really important folk. A few winged fairies who seem to know it all are just a start to the joy that is part of the Crystal Reveal Saturday, Dec. 30, at 511 Saint Lawrence St.

Who knows, we hear that Patsy Cline may even join the fun. We have no confirmation on that yet, but again watch details and timed schedule of events next week.

See you at the Crystal on Dec. 30!
