Arnold Arthur “Louie” Moeller

Arnold Arthur “Louie” Moeller, 80, of Gonzales, passed away Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016. He was born Jan. 30, 1936 in Moulton, the son of Louis and Bessie Holub Moeller. He was a 1954 graduate of El Campo High School.

He served with the U.S. Army. He married Marian Bernice Pirkle on Nov. 24, 1962 in Gonzales. He was known for his very strong work ethic. He was the market manager for Wuest Grocery for many years and for the past five years worked with Bucholtz Processing Co.

He was a member of the Gonzales Evening Lions Club and was a member of the Sportsman Club. Louie was an excellent cook, he loved to barbecue, he cooked for the Sportsman Club and most of all he enjoyed cooking for his family on Sundays.

He had many hobbies which included fishing, hunting, he was well known for being an excellent sharpshooter, yard work and gardening. His backyard has many varieties of fruit trees including, oranges, lemons, tangelos and pomegranate.

He was known for his joking and easy going personality. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Emmanuel Fellowship Church.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice Moeller; daughter, Deborah Darlene Moeller and partner Saturn Kincaid; son, Scott Dwaine Moeller and wife Cheryl; grandchildren, Chelsey, Cailinn, Jordan and Jaylee Moeller, all of Gonzales; sisters, Alice Schneider and husband Henry of Conroe, Dorothy Faas and husband Robert of El Campo and Lydia Johnson of Simi Valley, Calif.; brother, John Krenek of Boling, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, son, James Matthew Moeller; sister, Lorraine Cumby, and infant sister Margaret Moeller.

Visitation was 5 - 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services were 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12 at Emmanuel Fellowship Church with Reverend Lynn Wilson officiating. Interment followed at the Floyd Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Marcus Koenig, Robert M. Faas, Sidney Faas, Darrell Faas, Aaron Faas and Alan Faas.

Memorials may be made to the Emmanuel Fellowship Church. Arrangements under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home, Gonzales.
