It’s BantamFest time, again!

The 10th anniversary of BantamFest will be held May 14 at the Smiley Volunteer Fire Department. In 2020, this annual event was put on hold, due to COVID-19, and in 2021, the BantamFest enjoyed its biggest year to date.

This event is hosted by the Smiley Bantam Activity Group (SBAG) and they report they are looking forward to the biggest and best year in history for 2022. BantamFest is traditionally held in May and is the biggest event for the community.

While these last few years have not been a cake walk, BantamFest will have one! The cake walk will be held at 1 p.m. and the community is encouraged to donate cakes for this fun family event. You can contact Debbie Burnett or Melva Childress for your donation.

There will be a cook-off with a trophy for the best decorated cook-off spot. Set-up begins at 7 a.m. Guidelines are available on the Smiley Bantam Activity Group on Facebook. For further information regarding the cook-off rules and guidelines, contact Vanessa Amaya Dyer at 830-857-4712.
