Carol Jean “Jeanie” Hawes

Carol Jean “Jeanie” Hawes was born Feb. 17, 1943 in Freeport, Texas to Lloyd Clark “Buck” and Mary Nell Goode Hawes.

Throughout her life she was a waitress, x-ray technician, store manager and a veterinarian technician. In addition to her many jobs she was always Mama and Granny.

On Aug. 15, 2016, Carol was preceded in death by her father and mother. She is survived by her daughters, Marti (Daniel) Roegner of Liberty Hill, Pamela (Lake) Webb of Leander and Amy Pettus of Gonzales; sons, William (Roni) Stricker of Spring and Henry (Marlene) Pettus of Seguin; along with two sisters, two brothers and 11 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sept. 4 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 112 W. Adams Ave. in Port O'Connor.
