Craft Beer and Wine Festival will have more music, events

The music and entertainment for the second annual Gonzales Inquirer Come and Taste It Craft Beer and Wine festival have been announced.

On Friday night, at the Kenneth Stewart Trucking VIP event, Gabe Gallardo will be playing from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Something More Media Beer tent. Gallardo is a former Gonzales resident who has moved on to Austin. The VIP night starts at 6 p.m. and goes until at least 9 p.m. VIP tickets are $50, and entitle the ticket holder to free food, wine and beer on Friday night, plus entry on Saturday and a free beer mug, pour glass, and eight beer or wine tickets. There are a limited number of tickets for Friday’s VIP night so get your tickets early.

On Saturday, things get under way at 1 p.m., with at least three different performers playing on the David Stewart Trucking main stage. At 2 p.m., recording artist Bethany Becker out of Port Lavaca will be performing solo on the stage. Later, the highly acclaimed Oliver White Group out of Houston will take to the main stage. Then at 8 p.m. one of south central Texas’ hottest bands, The Hot Attacks from Victoria, Texas, will headline the evenings final performance and will rock Confederate Square.

Tickets for Saturday’s event are $25. Tickets entitle the holder to a free beer mug, a pour glass, and tickets for sampling and tasting in the beer tent.

This year, the Come and Taste It festival will feature two tents on Confederate Square, with over 75 different beers inside the tent and three different wineries displaying up to 12 different varietals. Four food trucks will be inside the grounds for revelers.

New to the event this year will be a courtyard featuring corn hole boxes and a dominoes table.

Proceeds of the second annual Gonzales Inquirer Come and Taste It Craft Beer and Wine festival will go towards Project 2030, a scholarship fund for Gonzales High School graduates at Victoria College.
