Donna Pruett, age 70 of Belmont, Texas, was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior on her birthday, October 2, 2023.  Donna was born on October 2, 1953, in Seguin, Texas to Genelda (Talley) and Lynn Pruett.

Donna graduated from Gonzales High School in 1971 and obtained her Bachelor of Science and Advertising Management degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 1981. Donna served as The Executive Vice President of Beta Sigma Phi and also completed an advertising internship at The Daily Texan. After obtaining her Texas Education Certification in Special Education in 1992, Donna held several positions in special education. She retired in 2021, after spending her last several years as an Admission Review and Dismissal (ARD) Facilitator for the Special Education Department in Westlake ISD and Round Rock ISD. During her years as ARD Facilitator, Donna was well-known as an avid baker, making personalized cakes for her coworkers’ monthly birthdays.

Throughout her life, Donna enjoyed spending time with her daughters and their families and became a beloved Nonna. Spending time at the beach each year was an important part of Donna’s life since early childhood and a passion that she passed on to her children. She loved the beauty of nature and was a lover of National Parks. Donna enjoyed live music and being spun around a country dance floor. After retiring, Donna enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, watching the sunset at her farmhouse, and traveling to new places. Donna had a loving and generous heart. She made sure the ones she loved were taken care of, helped people in need, and knew the perfect way to brighten someone’s day. She was a cherished friend to many classmates, coworkers, and especially her YaYa’s. Donna’s biggest joy in life was being a mother and being with her daughters, Christine, Lauren, and Ashley. Donna was not just their mom, she was also their best friend. The loss of Donna has left a void in their hearts and countless others, that will be filled by no other.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents Lynn and Genelda Pruett and her great-niece Paige Pruett. Survivors include her daughter, Christine Thiele and husband Michael and grandson Jackson and granddaughter Bryce; her daughter Lauren Ramirez and husband Jaime and grandson Brolin; and her daughter Ashley Ekrut and granddaughter Emersyn Talley Hage; her brothers, David Pruett and wife Jeanette, Ross Pruett and wife Ronda, and Kent Pruett and wife Karen; her sister, Carol Alyea, and husband Kreis; her nephews, Jay Pruett, Bryan Pruett, Steven Alyea and wife Lindley, and Andrew Pruett; her nieces, Rebecca Alyea and Amanda Pruett; great-nephews, Connor and Coby Pruett, Mason and Jake Pruett, Carter and Grayson Alyea; as well as numerous cousins and loving family members, and many friends.
