Donnie Darrell Kifer

Donnie Darrell Kifer, of Cost, passed away Friday, December 15, 2023.  He was born December 16, 1940 in Gonzales the son of Howell and Ella Heinemeyer Kifer.  He was a member of the 1959 graduating class of Gonzales High School. He married Virgie Mae Nance on June 24, 1962 in Gonzales.

He was a long time rancher and farmer, raising chickens and cattle.  He was known as a “Great Mechanic” and there was nothing he could not repair. He was very particular and the job was to be done right. He was always there to help friends and family. Most of all he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Virgie of Cost; daughter Donise Kifer Wright of Austin; son Darrell Kifer of Cost; grandchildren Kolby Zane Kifer and wife Mackinley and Jacy Lauren Wright; great-grandchildren Everett and Chandler; sister Linda Northcutt and husband Johnny of Overton, TX. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents, brother Glyn Kifer, sister Vivian Rossow and son-in-law Perry Wright.

Visitation will be held from 4p.m. until 6p.m. Monday at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at the Wrightsboro Cemetery.
