Dorothy Ione Wiley Baker

Dorothy Ione Wiley Baker passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024, at the age of 85. She was born in Gonzales, on August 31, 1938, to parents Fritz Jackson Wiley and Lela Ann Gibson Wiley.

Dorothy married the love of her life, Charles C. Baker, on January 18, 1958. They raised a family and shared 66 years of marriage together. After staying home with their children until they were old enough for school, she had a long career at BR Kidd Trucking in Luling before going to work at Palmetto State Park in Gonzales. She finally retired after 10 years at the park and dedicated the remainder of her life to taking care of her family.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband Charles C. Baker, great-granddaughter Heavan Alexandria Lockhart, son William Baker, stepson Richard (Marion) Baker, sister Wilma Holst, and brother Jack Wiley. She is also survived by her grandchildren Trisha (Cody) Lawson, Shay (Alex) Harmon, Clint (Jasmine) Baker, Lacey (Greg) Kuntschik, and great-grandchildren Zane, Jaclyn, Isaac, Kasen, Cayde, Tatum and Joel.

She is preceded in death by her parents, daughters Patsy Baker and Karen Pena, stepson Jack Baker, grandson Jeremy Baker, siblings Otha Wiley, Louise Warren, Clifton Wiley, Annie Pearl McDonald, Estha Kuntschik, and Kathleen Bolton.

There will be a visitation at Seydler – Hill Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A funeral service will also be held at Seydler – Hill Funeral Home on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 10:00am. Interment will proceed at Ebenezer Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Zane Archer, Clinton Baker, Cody Lawson, Greg Kuntschik Jr., Eric Kuntschik, Kevin Kuntschik and Gary Baker.
