GONZALES – Two people ended up behind bars after police said they were caught with cocaine and meth.

At 11:30 p.m. Dec. 3, Officer Tomas Garza saw a vehicle parked in the middle of the road in the 500 block of Cone St. for a long period of time, Capt. Allen Taylor reported.

The officer identified the vehicle's two occupants as Julian Gallegos, 23, of Gonzales, and Jasmine Gonzolez, 28, of Seguin. During questioning officers learned that Gallegos had an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Caldwell County. Officers also noticed that Gonzolez appeared to be intoxicated, Taylor said.

While conducting a search of the vehicle officers a bag containing what appeared to be cocaine, as well as a crystal-like substance that appeared to be meth. Since neither Gallegos nor Gonzolez admitted to possessing the drug, both were arrested and taken to Gonzales County Jail. They are charged with possession of a controlled substance. Taylor said Gallegos's warrant was for failure to appear on a charge of driving while license suspended.
