Ethel Vera Pizani Maupin Cheatham

Ethel Vera Pizani Maupin Cheatham, 92, of Gonzales passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024.  She was born June 18, 1931 in Barataria, Louisiana the daughter of Clarence and Thelma Fabre Pizani. 

She was very devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was truly the “Rock” of the family. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Family Church.

She is survived by her daughter Susan Maupin Berger of Gonzales; sons H.V. Maupin, Jr. of New Mexico, Tom Cheatham and wife Mary of California and Jerry Cheatham and wife Jill of San Antonio; grandchildren Wayne Berger and wife Mariah, Keith Berger, H.V. Maupin III, Miles Maupin,Tyler Maupin, Eric Cheatham, Joey Cheatham and Carly Cheatham; great-grandchildren Landon Castro, Jillian Castro, Aaron Berger and Donna Maupin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, H.V. Maupin Sr. in 1977 and Donald Cheatham in 2002.

Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2024 at the Belmont Cemetery with Reverend Forrest Hamilton officiating. Pallbearers include Wayne Berger, Keith Berger, Aaron Berger, Miles Maupin, Jerry Cheatham and Curt Pish.  Serving as honorary pallbearers are H.V. Maupin III, Tyler Maupin, Ricky Bellanger, Rodney Bellanger, Tom Cheatham, Jillian Castro, Landon Castro and Carly Cheatham.
