Gayle Ann Webb Morgan, 65, of Shiner, entered eternal life on Saturday, July 9, 2016.  Gayle was born to Travis and Bessie Webb on November 7, 1950 in Gonzales.  Gayle married John R. Morgan on July 4, 1970 at St. James Catholic Church in Gonzales.  Together, they had one daughter, Meagan.

Gayle’s early years were surrounded by her three sisters, of whom Gayle often told fond stories.  She regularly recounted tales of them working in the family chicken houses together.  She graduated from Gonzales High School in 1969.  Gayle worked for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission for over 40 years.  She started as a clerk, and, when she retired, she retired as a supervisor.  She made countless cherished friendships during her time working for the State.

Gayle enjoyed quilting and all the many adventures it took her on with her daughter.  They traveled all over the state of Texas to quilt shops.  She was a member of the Shiner Heritage Quilters.  Gayle also enjoyed traveling with her husband.  Whether it was to Disney World, Coushatta (to lose money), to visit family, or just a day trip, she cherished all the time she spent with family.

Gayle had a servant’s heart, and she never passed up the opportunity to help another person or to make someone’s life better.  She changed the lives of everyone she came in contact with.

Gayle Morgan is survived by her husband, John Morgan of Shiner, daughter and son-in-law, Meagan and Justin Campion of Gonzales, sisters Virginia Sue Nelson of Gonzales and Sandra Sweeney of Smithville, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Tommie Reynolds.

A rosary will be recited Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 7 p.m. in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 15 in St. James Catholic Church with Fr.
