Joint GEDC Gonzales City Council meeting called

GONZALES — Gonzales City Council will meet tonight in a joint executive session with Gonzales Economic Development Corporation to discuss a business prospect.

Council will open the meeting with a public hearing for early citizen input regarding the use of city funds for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2017 and ending September 30, 2018. This meeting will be followed by a second public hearing for citizen input regarding the proposed tax rate for the fiscal year.

Council will then discuss and consider a resolution approving the loan/grant application to GEDC, from the City of Gonzales, in the amount of $52,033.44, for the purchase of three Kubota ZD1211L 72-inch diesel mowers and a Kubota ZD1211 60-inch diesel mower, for the City of Gonzales Parks Department.

Also up for discussion and consideration is a resolution approving the loan/grant application to GEDC, from the City of Gonzales, in the amount of $80,373.90, for the purchase of greens and fairway mowers for specific use at Gonzales Independence Park Golf Course.

There will also be discussion and Consideration on a resolution approving the loan/grant application to GEDC, from the City of Gonzales, in the amount of $54,060.51, for the purchase of an Kubota M-5-091 HDC 95-horsepower cab tractor and LA1854 front loader for designated use at JB Wells Arena and Park.

Council is also slated for discussion regarding the City of Gonzales Rates and Fees for Services.

Council is expected to enter into an executive session for deliberation regarding economic development negotiations, to deliberate commercial or financial information city council has Received from a business prospect and to deliberate the offer of a financial or other incentive to a business prospect. Council will return to open session to discuss and consider any action resulting from executive session, as needed.
