Kainah Grace Cranfill-Barrie

Posted

Kainah Grace Cranfill-Barrie was born in Angleton, TX on August 14, 2001, to Amanda Barrie. She went to be with Jesus on Thursday, October 26, 2023. Her wings were ready, our hearts were not.

Kainah graduated from Cuero High School in May of 2020 and began attending Victoria College for a business degree, where she was set to graduate in May of 2024. While in college, Kainah simultaneously helped with the opening and running of their family business, Happy Apache Academy. Before opening, she was knocking out walls and building furniture. Once open, she stepped into the role of Administrative Assistant and quickly became the smiling face that the preschool families adored. In recent months, she promoted to Assistant Director, where she gave her all, like a boss, just as she had done since the beginning. Most importantly in the 3 years she was at the preschool, she was her mother’s sidekick, her partner in crime, with an unimaginable bond.

Kainah loved her babies, her cats Hannah Nanna and Ashby, who she often cradled like babies as they clawed to get away. She was a lover of all animals, with dreams and determination to open an animal rescue. Her favorite thing to do was read while sitting on the balcony of a cruise ship. She’d been on 11 with her family, and looked forward to going to Aruba for the first time next year. She also loved music. Koe Wetzel was the latest obsession, who she recently saw in concert with her parents. When she wasn’t at work or doing homework, she could be found starting her own side business making car freshies, on the couch with her daddy watching Supernatural or scary movies, or play fighting with him (all in good fun, but she sure could hit). She wrapped up every night by asking her daddy to “tuckie” her into bed.

She is preceded in death by grandfathers Rickey Cranfill (Pots) and Robert Barrie (Grandpa Barrie), and great grand parents William (Bill) Rouse (Paw Paw) and Robbie Rouse (La La).

She is survived by her parents, James and Amanda Barrie along with brother Cody, grandparents Julie Cranfill (Minnie), Wendy and Bill Bodine, along with numerous aunts and uncles.

Please consider donating to your local animal shelter or rescue in Kainah’s name.
