Laurel Ridge Antiques brings Christmas to life in Gonzales

You haven’t experienced “Christmas Shopping” until you’ve been in Laurel Ridge Antiques & Inn during the holiday season.

Located in a beautifully restored 1914 historic home at 827 Saint Joseph St. in Gonzales, Laurel Ridge has been a Gonzales Main Street business for more than 44 years. A visit to Laurel Ridge is not only a step into a yuletide wonderland, but also a step back in time.

After all, Laurel Ridge is first and foremost an antiques & gifts Christmas store with a reputation for unique offerings and quality craftsmanship that has stood the test of time. Filling the house to overflowing with Christmas treasures from around the world, owner Barbara Crozier takes pride in each and every room.

Crozier began Laurel Ridge Antiques in 1979 in the small carriage house behind the main house that was being renovated. By 1999, all the Christmas antiques and gifts that were being sold from the carriage house out back had made their way into the main house, where more antiques joined them.

“Operating the shop within the home allows visitors to Gonzales to see one of the unique, historic homes every day, while still being able to purchase fabulous Christmas antiques and gifts,” Barbara said of her decision to make the mansion the showcase for the business.

In 2011, Crozier took her enterprise to the next level, opening the second floor as an inn as well as a shop. Her creativity has made way to fun groups including “Girl’s Weekend Shopping Sleepovers.” Gonzales Main Street is pleased to recognize Laurel Ridge Antiques & Inn as their Main Street Business of the Month for December.
