Ludwig Clement Molnoskey

Ludwig Clement Molnoskey, 82, of Gonzales, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2016. He was born Aug. 19, 1934 in Gonzales County, the son of John and Tracy Pekar Molnoskey. He grew up in the Pilgrim area, where his family farmed and graduated from Gonzales High School in 1953.

He served in the U.S. Army. While stationed at Fort Polk, Lou., he met Lucille Fontenot and they were married Nov. 14, 1959.

They moved to Gonzales where he began work with GVEC and retired after 37 years as an electrical inspector. He was a master electrician and owned and operated Molnoskey Electric.

He loved to work, he enjoyed going out with his metal detector, coin collecting and tending his cattle. He was an avid baseball fan. He coached little league and junior league baseball. And most of all spending time with his family especially his beloved grandchildren. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lucille Molnoskey of Gonzales; sons, Alan John Molnoskey and Wade Michael Molnoskey and wife Mandie, all of Gonzales; granddaughters, Samantha Studlar, Anika Studlar and Libby Molnoskey; sisters, Tracy Read of Seguin, Agnes Jasek and husband Daniel of Moulton and Adeline Molnoskey of Gonzales; brothers, Edwin Molnoskey and wife Sandra and David Molnoskey and wife Janice, all of Gonzales. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Michelle Studlar; sister, Helen Mercer and brother Joe Molnoskey.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with a rosary vigil starting at 7 p.m. Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22 at St. James Catholic Church with Father Paul Raaz officiating. Interment will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery.Pallbearers include Marland Mercer, Danny Read, John Read, Wayne Hillman, Sydney Jasek and Matt Jasek. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Behrendt and John C. Fontenot.
