Margarita Martinez Cavazos, 80, of Gonzales, Texas passed away on Friday, Oct. 13.
Margarita was born on July 20, 1937 to Ascension and Maria Martinez in Coy City, Texas.
She lived most of her life in Karnes City, Texas. Margarita married Jesus Cavazos on Aug. 29, 1992 at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Karnes City. She was a housewife her entire life. Devoted to her husband and family. She loved gardening, quilting and playing bingo. She and her husband moved to O’Donnell, Texas and lived there a few years before moving to Gonzales, Texas. Margarita was a resident at The Heights in Gonzales Nursing Home. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her son, five sisters and one brother.
Survivors included her daughters, Guadalupe Alvarez and Mike Mendez of Gonzales, Texas. Paula Coronado and her husband, Roldan Coronado of Elgin, Texas. Monica Rodriquez and her husband, Michael Rodriquez of Lubbock, Texas. Her sister, Aurelia Reyna of Slaton, Texas.
Margarita had 14 grandkids and 25 great-grandkids. Numerous amounts of nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was a member of the Guadalupana Society.
Pallbearers are Michael Medina, Christopher Martinez, Max Martinez, Jacob Coronado, Michael Rodriquez and Jimmy Rosas.
Viewing will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gonzales, Texas at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 19. Mass will be at 10 a.m. and then to her resting place at the St. James Catholic Cemetery.
