The Pilot Club of Gonzales, Gonzales Masonic Lodge No. 30 A.F. & A.M. and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4817 made a trip to the veterans memorial at the Masonic Cemetery on Saturday, Dec. 16 as part of Wreaths Across America.

“As we lay a wreath on the veterans monument as part of the Wreaths Across America program, we hope to make this a bit bigger and better every year with the help of your organizations as well as the community,” Lorrell Wright of the Pilot Club said.

From the mission statement from the official website of Wreath Across America:

“Remember the fallen. Honor those who serve. Teach the next generation the value of freedom. Our volunteers are the beating heart of the program and work year-round to share this important mission and inspire others to join.”

The VFW placed two wreaths for the Gonzales County veterans that made the ultimate sacrifice.
