The Robert Lee Brothers Jr. Gonzales Public Library will hold an educational event in honor of National Poetry Month on Monday, April 22, between the hours of 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

This event is family friendly and designed to introduce interested persons, and especially young people, to the joys and value of poetry and creative writing.

PoetKen Jones, a former Professor at the Art Institute institute of Houston, who has published more than a dozen poetry collections, will conduct a discussion, host a reading and open mike. Jones will share prompts and exercises to help people of all ages access their talents during this afternoon of creative fun.
This date, both Earth Day and Passover this year, allows a unique opportunity to explore how words can illuminate environmental, spiritual, and religious healing traditions. Persons of all ages, faiths, and walks of life are invited to participate.
