Rerise Amelia Barron, 36, of Wrightsboro, passed away Wednesday, May 31. Rerise was born October 1, 1980 in Koror, Palau to Jesse West and Astheria Rechirei. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rerise married Hector Miguel Barron on June 9, 2007 in Gonzales.

Rerise was always athletic; she competed in the Micronesia Olympics as a young lady. After moving to the USA in 1998, Rerise enlisted into the US Army at the age of 17. She was stationed at Camp Casey in Korea where she met Hector Barron who would later become her husband. She was also stationed at Ft. Lewis, Wash. and Ft. Benning, Ga. Upon her honorable discharge from active duty, Sargent Rerise Barron continued her service to her country by enlisting into the Texas National Guard in Yoakum where she completed a total of 10 years combined service.

Rerise worked for HEB in several management capacities and had been serving as the manager of the Gonzales HEB Deli and Bakery. Rerise was a very active lady. She enjoyed participating in local soccer, softball and volleyball games and played in a soccer league in Austin. She and her husband completed a “Tough Mudder Run” in Austin last April and she enjoyed encouraging her children to stay active in sports and through long hikes. Rerise was tough, she was a competitor and as in the decree of the US Army, Rerise worked every day to be all she could be, as a wife, mother, daughter, employee and friend. She was deeply principled and steadfast in her beliefs. She lived by example for her children through her work ethic, active nature, constant encouragement and belief in them and most of all through her radiant smile and unbending love.
