Robert Odell Deal Sr.

Robert Odell Deal Sr., 83, of Gonzales, TX, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024.  He was born on July 8, 1940, in Rogers, Tx, to Ottis and Marie Null Deal. He Graduated from Waelder High School, in 1959.

Robert had a successful career working for both Southern Pacific and Union Pacific Railroad, where he dedicated many years of service. He retired in 2001, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment.

Outside of his professional life, Robert had a passion for working on the farm and in his shop, where he enjoyed rebuilding equipment. These hobbies brought him joy and fulfillment.

Robert is survived by his son, Robert "Bobby" Deal Jr., of Gonzales Tx. and his grandson Chris Louwien and wife Sharon Louwien of Youngsville, La. He is also survived by his two sisters-in-law, Dottie and Betty Deal, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda "Cookie" Kelley Deal, his parents, O.L and Marie Deal, and two brothers, Jimmy Deal and Charles Deal.

The memory of Robert Odell Deal Sr. will forever be cherished by his family and friends.  He will be remembered for his dedication to his career, his love for his hobbies, and the impact he made on those around him.
