Rogelio Alvarez Barajas

Rogelio Alvarez Barajas, 67, of Gonzales, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 09, 2024. He was born on January 14, 1956, in San Felipe, Guanajuato, Mexico to his parents Francisco Alvarez and Zita Barajas Alvarez. He married his wife Virginia Briones Rangel in 2002 and together they raised their two daughters Lisbet and Ybet.

Rogelio was a kind man, he carried lots of  love in his heart. He loved his wife and daughters dearly and showed them unconditional love throughout his life. He had a cheerful spirit and became a friend to anyone he came across. Rogelio worked hard to provide for his family, he had busy hands and always had something to work on. Along with his love for his family, Rogelio loved music. If there was any norteña music or cumbia, he was dancing. He loved listening to his favorite music while driving, he always tapped the dashboard of his truck to the beat of the music. He was also one to tell dad jokes, he loved making his daughters laugh. Rogelio leaves behind a family that will cherish the time they had with him.

He is survived by his wife Virginia, his daughters Lisbet and Ybet, and his brothers and sisters.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will take place at Seydler – Hill Funeral Home on Friday, January 12, 2024, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, with a rosary taking place at 7:00pm recited by Deacon Alfonso Moreno. A mass of the resurrection will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 2:00pm officiated by Fr. Jason Martini and Deacon Alfonso Moreno. Interment will follow at St. James Catholic Church. Pallbearers will include members of the family. 

All services are under the care and direction of Seydler – Hill Funeral Home.
