Sales tax allocations for the city of Gonzales saw modest growth this month, rebounding from last month’s drop.

Meanwhile, the city of Nixon received a healthy bump in sales tax that could be attributable to their Feather Fest on Cinco de Mayo held in May while Waelder is now within $4,000 of its best-ever year for sales tax collections, according to Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar’s office.

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for July, 7.5 percent more than in July 2022.

These allocations are based on sales made in May by businesses that report tax monthly.
