SBAG Fall Festival to be held Saturday

Charlie Brown can expect to get more than a rock in his sack at the Smiley Bantam Activity Groups Fall Festival, to be held this Saturday, Oct. 21 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Smiley Volunteer Fire Department, 208 N. FM 108.

There will be a pumpkin decorating contest, a cake walk, a coloring contest, a costume contest, a dance  party and a hay ride. Food and drink will also be available for purchase.

Rule for the pumpkin contest are they must weigh less than 35 pounds and no artificial pumpkins will be accepted. All pumpkins must be turned in no later than 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21.

You can glue or pin material and paper of any kind to the pumpkins and participants may draw, paint or dress up their pumpkins, but do not carve or hollow out pumpkins or write or display your name on your pumpkin. All participants must be present to win and categories include elementary, junior high, high school and adult. Winners will be announced at 7 p.m.

Businesses and community organizations are asked to take part in the Candy Alley at 6:30 p.m. and there will be a trophy for the best decorated car in Candy Alley. To participate, contact Michelle Mills at 830-203-7132.

Schedule includes the following:
• 4 p.m., Pumpkin turn in and Cake Walk.

• 5 p.m., Coloring Contest & Kids Games.

• 6 p.m., Costume Contest & Dance Party.

• 6:30 p.m., Candy Alley opens.

• 7 p.m., All winners will be announced.

• 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Hay Ride.
