Steven Adams Turner

Posted

Steven Adams Turner aka Steve Turner went to heaven to be with Jesus at the age of 76 on Jan. 5, 2024 @ 7:53pm. He had been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease Primary Biliary Cirrhosis (a disease that attacks the liver) a couple months prior.

He lived a life full of love, and always thinking of others. He was in his element being in nature, swimming in the river, camping, and gardening. He was able to lead many souls into the Kingdom of God through many mission trips, helping the homeless, teaching, and ministering in prisons, nursing homes, and many churches in his time here on earth with us.

You may have known Steve from many different trades he had throughout his life, from carpentry, to antique dealer, to sign maker, to massage therapist. He was very active in the community and was the president of the Ottine water board for many years. Steve and his wife Cheryl were also EMT’s for several years with Gonzales County EMS, and volunteered for the Ottine volunteer fire department.

Or maybe you knew him from being born on Jan. 19, 1947 and growing up in his younger years in Houston, Tx, then graduating high school from Baptist Academy in San Marcos, Tx. He lived in Sweethome, Tx. and his first marriage was to Cindy Foster aka Cynthia Castle. Cindy actually introduced Steve to Cheryl after they got a divorce saying “Y'all would be perfect for eachother” and she sure was right! Steve and Cheryl married shortly after, and enjoyed 40 years full of love, and friendship residing in Ottine, Texas for the rest of his life.

He is survived by his wife Cheryl Turner, and his children, Annie Rachel Turner, Christa Manuel Mendez, Joshua Maunel Turner, and Leah Marie Turner. He had 10 grandchildren, Makayla Manuel Mendez, Kaylee Manuel, Logan Guerro, Joe Mendez, Adam Mendez, Jaiden Manuel, Grace Manuel, Braylon Spears, Alexavier Russell, Jacoby Russell, and 1 great grandchild Craig Jr. He is also survived by his brother Hat (Harry Adams Turner), and his wife Pam Turner, their two children Heath Turner, and Hilary Zimmerman (and their children).
