Annie Lee Parr, 89, of Gonzales, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2026. She was born January 29, 1937, in Gonzales, Texas, to Frank Vanek and Rosie Gerloff Vanek. Born and raised in Gonzales, Annie spent her life surrounded by family, faith, hard work, and the people she loved dearly.

Annie was a longtime member of Memorial Heights Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a strong woman of faith who looked forward to worshiping on Sunday mornings and evenings and Wednesday evenings. Her faith was an important part of her life and was reflected in the way she loved and cared for others.

Annie was a hardworking woman who was never afraid to stay busy. For many years, she owned and operated Casa Rio Grocery Store on Water Street with her first husband Al Urban. She also worked at Lake Texana State Park, and it was not uncommon for Annie to be working multiple jobs at the same time.

In her younger years, Annie loved to water ski and could often be found enjoying herself at the lake. She was outgoing and had a heart of gold. She loved her family deeply and treasured the times spent surrounded by those she loved.

Holidays were especially meaningful to Annie. She loved preparing an abundance of delicious food and enjoyed having everyone together. She was an adoring grandmother who could always be counted on to have special treats waiting for her grandchildren and their friends whenever they stopped by after school or simply popped in for a visit. She quite often welcomed her grandchildren into her home during summer break, creating fond memories and building bonds of love that will remain with them throughout their lives.

Annie's loving family includes her daughter, Sherian Ann Cleveland (Mike); step-daughter, Melissa Parr; son, Robert Vanek (Julie); sister, Margaret Plunkett; grandchildren, Jonathan Cleveland (Veronica), Eric Cleveland (Erik), Amy Vanek, Robbie Tomlinson (Tom), and Ashley Vanek; 7-stepgrandchildren; 9 great-greatgrandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Parr; her parents, Frank Vanek and Rosie Gerloff Vanek; and her brother, James Vanek.
